Crafting a Playful Yet Polished Brand for Design Over Drinks

When we partnered with Design Over Drinks, we knew our mission: create a cohesive logo series that captured the podcast’s vibrant personality while staying true to its core themes of design, pop culture, and creativity. From the first concept round to the final files, we poured our passion into crafting every element to reflect the show’s fun, approachable, and creative vibe. The result? A dynamic branding system that feels fresh, distinctive, and uniquely Design Over Drinks.


The podcast needed a brand identity that wasn’t just visually appealing—it had to encapsulate its unique blend of design expertise and pop culture commentary. On top of that, we needed to develop a logo system that could seamlessly adapt to different podcast segments while maintaining a cohesive look and feel.


We began with the primary logo, inspired by a director’s clapboard—a nod to the behind-the-scenes creativity the podcast celebrates. To reflect the podcast’s playful spirit, we added a subtle wobble, reminiscent of the lighthearted buzz after a drink or two. The result? A polished yet approachable identity that captures the podcast’s essence.


Each podcast segment deserved its own distinct identity, so we crafted secondary logos that reflect their unique vibes while harmonizing with the overall brand:

  • "Deep Dive": A retro, neon-inspired design with 1950s charm, evoking nostalgia and exclusivity.

  • "Laymen Asks": A handwritten speech bubble for a raw, conversational feel—perfect for unfiltered discussions.

  • Pop Culture: Bold and magazine-inspired, this logo embodies the vibrant energy of pop culture.

Together, these logos form a multifaceted identity that mirrors the podcast’s dynamic personality.





To unify the brand, we introduced a geometric ice cube motif—a clever nod to the “drinks” in Design Over Drinks. This recurring element adds depth and texture while reinforcing the podcast’s themes.





Each logo balances fun, trendy elements with timeless appeal:

  • Clean lines and classic geometry ensure longevity.

  • Nostalgic 1950s influences in the "Deep Dive" logo feel enduring, not dated.

  • The Pop Culture logo’s bold design adapts seamlessly across platforms.

  • The handwritten "Laymen Asks" logo adds a personal, relatable touch.

Every detail was crafted with care, from the wobble in the primary logo to the lively speech bubble in "Laymen Asks" and the vintage charm of "Deep Dive." The result is a cohesive, intentional brand that reflects the podcast’s creativity and charm.







The Design Over Drinks logo series is more than a set of designs—it’s the visual voice of the podcast. The branding captures the show’s playful yet polished identity, helping it stand out in the crowded podcasting space. With this cohesive and versatile branding system, Design Over Drinks now has a strong foundation to engage its audience and grow its presence across platforms.
